For some reason Safari shows the YUI RTE toolbar just fine now. I don't know what happened. I've been trying to figure out what I did to mysteriously solve the problem. Can't reproduce the issue myself now. I'll contact you if I'm onto something...
What issues did you have with 4.1? I've personally only got it installed on 4.1 at the moment, so am glad to hear it does work in 4.2, but would really like to know the issues you had.
YUI can support tables but they haven't put it in officially due to their insistence on making sure all features work in all browsers equally. Now Safari doesn't support tables in design mode, so they are having difficulty adding it. Dav Glass (the author of the RTE) said: "The issue here is with cross browser support, Opera & Safari have really poor
support for tables in designMode, so there may be some work there..".
So in answer to your question, yes tables can be added, but as you mentioned Safari specifically, it won't make much difference for you! There are other Safari based issues, see http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/editor/#knownissues for details.
Regarding config, I plan on putting in something so that admins can add some script to modify the YUI themselves. It's very well documented with plenty of examples, so admins can add their own elements and it saves getting the config too complicated. However, you are not the first person to ask to be able to disable buttons, so it is something I will look at.
Oh well, they're back: the Safari issues. Looks like it's related to the use of MT4.1 (Safari is ok) and MT4.2rc2 (Safari has issues). So it may be triggered buy a code-change in MT4.2.
Made a classic, school-boy error last night...Was moving a movabletype installation from 2 recently decommissioned dedicated servers to a cloud hosting environment and noticed that...
Any luck yet with the IE6 display issues? IE7 show 'em fine, but IE6 splashes them buttons all over.
@Ton55
I have added this into the latest version (0.9.9), so there is now an insert image dialog and an insert asset dialog.

Do you get any errors in FF's error console? If so you could you pass them on?
Just tried the switch from RTE to none using MT's drop down and it seems fine. Could you send me steps to reproduce the problem?
Thanks
Hold your horses: MT4.2rc3 seems to solve the Safari issues. I'll do some more testing but it looks allright.
