Every business can benefit from a website of some description. Be it a 'brochure' website as part of a larger marketing campaign, an e-commerce store to suplement an existing mail order business or an internal site for manageing staff timesheets.
Many people think of web sites and web-based applications as purely a visual fucntion of marketing, when in reality that is just the tip of the iceberg.
To really leverage the potential of web based development within your own business you need to think about your business as a whole and whether any of your business processes can be automated or centralised. Many companies could dramatically reduce software costs and lower administrative time by moving their core business processes to a web based system.
I can assist you with any or all phases of this process, from analysis of your exisiting systems, be it pen and paper or an exisiting software solution, to designing a replacement system to implementing and building that system all the way through to training your staff to use it.
I have been developing web based systems for nearly a decade and have completed projects for many and varied clients. Please have a look at some of my recent work as well as the projects I am working on in my spare time.

Localised entertainment guide for planning your time off.
The Good Time Guide provide listings of all the local places to spend your time out, as well as having local news updates for each town covered showcasing events and other activities that shouldn't be missed.
The site was built using ASP and allows the admininstration staff to update and control every aspect of the site in an easy and non technical way. The code then turns that into an easy to read public interface that utilises fairly advanced SEO techniques. URL rewriting forms a core part of the SEO strategy for the site with page names and directory structure all being rewriten to show up best on search engine indexes. The core public site is only comprised of a few individual files that can scale up to an infinite number of individual entries with search engines and users seeing unique pages.Just Champagne

Full e-commerce site with integration into WorldPay.
This site allows the owner to operate multiple web shops using one database, one management system and most importantly, one hosting cost. Each site can have a completely independent design and integrates with Google AdWord conversion tracking, Google Analytics for statistical information and exports to Google Base (products) for enhanced listings. It also features basic CMS functionality for editing non-product pages.
Key technologies used include URL Rewriting to enhance search engine optimisation. This means a URL such as domain.com/product.asp?id=327576 is re-written as domain.com/product/product_name.htm, which enhances the search engine's ability to index the site and also improves the relevance of the results. Images are managed fully on the site and automatically resized and tagged with the owner's choice of words. Almost all settings can be configured on a per site/shop basis allowing the various sites running on the system to appear completely independent.
Dixcart.com
I was the sole developer on a fully content managed website for the Dixcart Group (http://www.dixcart.com/) which allows non-technical admin staff to update all the pages on the site as well as easily manage documents and files available. It also includes heavy search engine optimisation techniques that aid in improving the ranking of the website of search engines without using any 'cheats' or loopholes that eventually end in having the site dropped off listings.
